Meet The Team
Andy Banks
Andy started a 4 year apprenticeship in '88 at a Repro Company and was trained on Crosfield Drum Scanners, and also made Cromalins, plates and a lot of job bags! but discovered his passion for quality and colour printing. In ‘91 the digital revolution took hold and Andy started on Macs and Page Makeup Systems. During which time he gained a City & Guilds in Printing and Graphic Communications, and went on to receive an HND from Watford College of Print for a study in to the effects of dot gain with colour when printing.
In '94 Andy went to work for a printing company setting up a new prepress and IT department, which over a 12 year period involved multiple Macs, imagesetters, scanners, ink jet proofers, RIPs, B1 & B2 CTP systems with workflow. During this time he installed and set up a new Internet Hosting Division and later moved both units to new premises, a large project which he managed from the ground up. To complement this unit, he added an On-line Digital Printing company using an Indigo 3500 and wide format printers.
In '02 Andy started at Avon Graphics where he now runs the Technical dept. and supports the sales team. He is a qualified Canon, OKI and Xante Technician, has a number of MCSE's and specialises in colour management, workflow systems, digital print equipment, ink-jet and anything that involves printing and technology.
Mark Barker
Mark worked as a photographic technician at the Zoology department of Bristol University, after three years he joined Rotaprint Ltd as the UK's top demonstrator, and then became a supply salesman during a period of six years. Mark then joined Copy Consultants Western Ltd based in Bath starting up a graphics division which he built up to a turnover of £1.5 million. He then became a director of the company but left after 10 years to set up his own busniness Barker Graphics. In 1986 Mark joined Avon Graphics and has promoted the changes from analogue to electronic and digital as the print industry has evolved. In 1999 he was appointed as a director and is now the managing director of Avon Graphic Technologies Ltd.
Jon Codd
Started selling career back in 1977 when after serving his apprenticeship and then progressing on to become Production Supervisor at Lawrence Allen Colour Printers in Weston-super-Mare, Jon joined M. H. Whittaker and Sons (Leeds) selling Compugraphic equipment. After a successful 3 years, left to start his own typesetting business, which he ran for 13 years. After a spell selling print and print finishing he joined Wavetown - suppliers of graphic arts supplies, in 2000. When Wavetown eventually closed down Jon joined Avon Graphics in 2002.
Jim Cox
Jim served a six-year printing apprenticeship at Brunel Technical College where he was the top apprentice for five consecutive years. He received 1st class passes for City & Guilds, a full Technological Certificate in Print and awarded the BFMP Gold Medal. After spending the next 27 years printing on Letter-press, Litho-graphic and Photo-gravure Presses Jim felt like a change and started out on a career change as a Technical Sales Representative advising on Print Supplies and Equipment. Jim has been with Avon Graphics since the late 90’s and together with Tony Greenhalgh covers the Bristol and surrounding counties.
Debbie French

Tony Greenhalgh
Tony joined the RAF as an apprentice and attended the RAF School of Photography gaining City&Guilds in Photography and Lithography and enjoyed the next 15 years traveling the world for free! After the RAF Tony joined Rotaprint for 6 years, he then went on to work for AGFA for 20 years as a Technical Dealer Manager covering the South West. Tony has been with Avon Graphics since the late 90’s and together with Jim Cox covers the Bristol and surrounding counties.

Marian Hine

Nick Langridge
Nick started in the printing industry back in 1979 at The Mid-Somerset Series of Newspapers in Wells, Somerset as a Compositor, also completing a 6 year apprenticeship whilst also attending the Brunel Technical College in Bristol. In 1986 Nick then moved to Ken Stokes Business Forms for a few years before moving into sales for Alstons Graphic Supplies in 1989 for 5 years which later became part of Rotaprint/Pan Graphics. In 1994 Nick moved to Wavetown Graphic Supplies still in sales until its acquisition in 2002 by Avon Graphics where Nick still covers the Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire territories. Nick's specalist areas are Imageing Systems both film and plate, Workflow, Proofing Systems, Wide Format Inkjet, Software RIPs and a comprehensive knowledge of consumables.
Tony Martin

Jay Poole
Employed as a Mac Artworker in a reprographics house in 1998. In this time I have worked with all the major DTP software ensuring files were setup correctly for file and colour integrity. Used a number of rips including torrent, harlequin and creo to output to devices such as film/plate setters, Large format and digital printers. Joined Avon Graphics in 2007 as a technical support engineer.
Bob Watts

Peter Weaver
Pete's career in the printing industry started as a printer and platemaker at the MOD in 1967, this was to prove invaluable in understanding the products associated with printing. He joined Avon Graphics in 1977, shortly after the company was founded. Primarily dealing with sales in the Somerset, Gloucester and South Wales area. Pete became Sales Director a year later, since then he has seen the company grow from the initial team of just three people, As Finance Director and Company Secretary, Pete currently looks after the financial and credit control portion of the business.
