The StudioRIP Screening has a much bigger influence on the output quality than most pre-press workers would think. A good RIP can compensate, to a certain degree, for the lack of high resolution, the effects of blurry dots, or the inability of the printing technology to reproduce small halftone dots. 4096 Shades of Gray
even on line screen and resolution combinations like 150 lpi at 1200 dpi.
Smooth, pattern free halftones
SGSS filters out the possible patterns caused by the dot gain of the imagesetter/CTP.
Colour precision
a low-pass filtering system smoothes dot gain spikes, offering perfectly linear behavior after calibration.
Consistent rosettes
CMK moiré is impossible with StudioRIP. SGSS offers perfect rosette consistency even on large format, high resolution and special angles.
Customizable hybrid screening
the user can set up the minimum and maximum printable dot size.
Flexo hybrid screening
reproducing highlights is a key problem in flexography, and having pattern free highlights with good color depth is critical.SGSS offers extra smooth hybrid screens for flexography.
Stochastic screening
SGSS offers a second order stochastic screening, which produces extremely smooth tints in the AM area.
