StudioRIP's feature list is unique in the RIP market. It includes built in imposition, trapping, raster and contone proofing, ink duct control, high quality screening, remote operation, powerful preview etc.

StudioRIP Screening

The RIP has much bigger influence on the output quality than most pre-press workers would think. A good RIP can compensate, to a certain degree, for the lack of high resolution, the effects of blurry dots, or the inability of the printing technology to reproduce small halftone dots. StudioRIP may transform even your old capstan imagesetter into a top quality device.

StudioRIP Trapping

In the high quality reproduction of colour documents, gaps caused by misregistration of a printing process are commonly avoided by creating an overlap between areas of adjacent colour called a trap. Level 3 Postscript defines rules and parameters for trap generation that RIPs should follow in the Postscript interpretation and rendering process. StudioRIP has a proprietary raster based technique for trapping with a rich set of features.

StudioRIP Proofing

An extremely strong feature of StudioRIP is that it has a built-in proofing system, which is able to make accurate proofs of the final print on an inkjet printer.  There are two proofing systems available in StudioRIP, Raster (dot for dot) proofing for a ROOM workflow and ISO12647-7 Contone Proofing for FOGRA39 colour accuracy.

StudioRIP Inkjet Film and Plates

Printing on film or plates with inkjet printers is an affordable and easy way of making relatively cheap, large format and relatively good quality films or plates for serigraphy, flexography or for unpretentious offset works. StudioRIP is one of the few RIPs on the market that is able to produce high quality films or plates with inkjet printers, having proprietary solutions for the specific problems of the inkjet printing

StudioRIP Imposition

StudioRIP has a post-RIP imposition system, which means that the imposition will be done on the processed and rasterized data rather than on the source PS/PDF files. Thus the various data integrity problems of PS/PDF based imposition software are eliminated (it is impossible for the content of the pages to be changed by the imposition).
