What is StudioRIP

StudioRIP is a computer program used in the pre-press and other industries. RIP is an abbreviation of Raster Image Processor. The function of a RIP is to receive high level vector image data (such as Postscript, PDF, PCL, HPGL), convert it into low level raster image data (typically high resolution, halftoned monochrome bitmaps), and then output it using a raster device (imagesetter, CTP, inkjet printer, laser printer, laser gravure device etc.).

User friendly interface

StudioRIP's interface is easy to understand and simple to use. The intuitive, attractive and simple interface gives a true Windows XP look, feel and comfort.

High quality screening

Consistent rosettes, 4096 shades, smooth vignettes, stable highlights and shadows, customizable hybrid screening, protected skin tones, second order stochastic screening.

Remote operation

Control of the rip on the desktop of every designer or operator. As the server application has no visual interface (it is an icon in the system tray), the client application has full control over the RIP through any network connection

Simultaneous operation

Several designers or operators can work simultaneously with StudioRIP, by connecting with as many client applications is necessary to the server.

Built-in imposition

User definable styles, manual and automatic page arrangement, user definable pre-press marks, bleed.

In-RIP trapping

Adobe-compliant raster based technology (auto-choke of blacks, spot color traps, special ink handling, narrowed/proportional traps, mitered traps, vector to image traps, feathered and anamorphic traps are also available). Fast, stable, excellent quality.

Proofing

Contract quality proofs (both raster and contone) can be printed with StudioRIP.

Enhanced preview

Any job can be previewed at different levels (separations, composite, imposition, media), using real-life colors and continuous zoom.

Flexo friendly

Flexo distortion and flexo screens built in. Flexo printers can work with StudioRIP simply and easily, without the need for extra programs.

Film saving

Saves wasted material by automatically rotating and collecting the pages to minimize the media usage.

High speed

StudioRIP is one of the fastest rips available. Our proprietary MMX rendering technology rips in seconds

Multiple outputs

StudioRIP can drive multiple output devices simultaneously.
